Know your pattern.
One tap starts the clock. No subscription to remember to cancel, no account required, and nothing that stops working just because a server somewhere had a bad night.
first 5 contractions free · $19.99 once after that · web app live now, iOS/Android coming
I built Pattern the week my wife was overdue, because the app I downloaded at 6am wanted a weekly subscription for something we'd use for maybe three days of our entire lives. That felt wrong. So did the idea of our contraction data sitting on someone's server.
Pattern is small on purpose. It times contractions, it shows you the pattern, and it stays out of the way otherwise. That's it.
Three things worth knowing before you download.
Pay once
$19.99 · not $4.99/weekYour first 5 contractions are free. After that, one purchase, forever. Not a recurring charge you'll forget about six months postpartum and only notice on a bank statement.
Stays on your phone
no server, no syncYour log isn't uploaded anywhere to make the core app work. It's not our data to have — it's yours, on your device, the way something this personal probably should be.
Outlasts us
verified by apple/google, not our serversWe're not a company with an uptime guarantee. But Apple or Google verifies your purchase, not us — so if we ever go quiet, the app you already installed isn't supposed to notice.
Tap. Watch. Know.
Time it, or log it late
Tap start and stop live, or enter one after the fact — down to the exact second, even a real 10-second contraction that a minute-only timer would round away.
Watch the pattern form
Duration, frequency, rolling averages over the last hour and six — no mental math at 3am, no scrolling back through a text thread to yourself.
Get a clear signal
A plain-language nudge when your pattern matches the 5-1-1 guideline many providers use. Information, not a diagnosis — you and your provider still make the call.

The honest answers.
What happens if Pattern shuts down someday?
Your purchase is verified through Apple or Google, not a server we run — so once it's unlocked on your phone, it's built to keep working even if we ever stop actively updating the app. We can't promise this covers every possible future scenario, but it's how the app is built, on purpose, not an afterthought.
Does my data leave my phone?
No. Your contraction log stays local to your device. An account is only used to keep a purchase unlocked across devices — it doesn't sync your log anywhere.
Does Pattern tell me when to go to the hospital?
No. Pattern shows you when your pattern matches a commonly cited guideline, as information — not medical advice. Always follow your provider's guidance on when to call or go in.
